Christmas brings happy memories of our getogethers in Ohio or PA. at the Holiday Inn
w/adjoining rooms .You always made time for us in your very busy life to make sure the boys could visit w/Busha  and Uncle Denny  so they knew us & we got to see how they got bigger, cuter and smarter !  Those times I will forever hold dear to my heart.

Carolyn Jayo

In the summer of 1994, Deanne and Terry took a trip to California.  After spending several days at Yosemite, they drove to Vacaville.  Deanne asked her Aunt Carolyn where she wanted to go that Saturday.  I told Deanne that she was the guest and that she pick the place.  I gave her a dozen options and she asked me where I had not been.  I told her that we had never been to Santa Cruz and she said, "Well, that's where I want to go."  Uncle Bill, Terry, Deanne and I had a wonderful time.  We got lost on the way home (Uncle Bill driving) and I can remember how patient and calm Deanne was, eventhough, the gas tank was nearing empty.

Deanne, you are a special niece and will always remain in our hearts. We love you.

Barbara Funnell

If it weren't for Deanne, my husband and I would never have met.

Deanne and I worked together at Eddie's, an old style, fine dining restaurant in South Bend, Indiana.  One day, when she was bartending all day, she loaned me her car in the afternoon.  It was a very sunny June day and when I returned, running late for work, the brightness outside made it hard to see in the dimly lit lounge, but, as I tossed her the keys, I caught the silhouette of a couple of long-haired guys sitting at the bar; not the usual clientelle.  Later Deanne mentioned that they were her boyfriend, Larry, and his friend, Jeff.

Several days later, Deanne said, "Barbara, I've got to talk to you.  Jeff wants to go out with you."  And I said, "Who's Jeff?"  She said, "You know, my friend who was at the bar the day you borrowed my car."  I said, "You're kidding!, I didn't even see him!"  "Well," she said, "he saw you, and he liked what he saw and he wants to go out with you."

So, Deanne set up a double date with her and Larry, and me and Jeff.  We met at Bill's house because their band, Propaganda was practicing.  We had a fun evening, but Jeff was really quiet.  I gave him my phone number but he never called.  Deanne had an answer for that.  "He doesn't like to use the phone."  (yeah, right!!)

Fourth of July came along and she convinced me that Jeff wanted me and my kids to go along up with all of them to party on the beach for the weekend.  She made Jeff ride with my boys and me, which was awkward for about a minute until we started talking and became fast friends.

Many stories could be told about that weekend at Little Poland, but let's just say it was awesome.  We had to get back to South Bend because the guys were playing at a party the next night.  Deanne and I went to the party; the cops came too.  Jeff and I slipped out the back door, walked to my house, and he's never left.

A couple of weeks later, Jeff said to me, "This has been great, and I really like you, but there's one thing that bothers me.  Do you remember that day we met in the bar?" and I said uneasily, "Uh, yeah."  And he said, "I really don't remember you from that day at all, but Deanne told me that you saw me and liked me and wanted to go out with me."

When I accused her of lying to me, and thanked her in the same breath, she said, "Well, I knew you were perfect for each other."  Of course, she was our maid of honor at our wedding.

I love you, Deanne.  Thank You!
